Artist Statement

As an artist I’m driven by a desire to find my own unique voice in the realm of abstract expressionism—one that resonates with authenticity, vulnerability, and strength.

The palette I consistently return to includes deep blues, aqua tones, and dark orange-reds, colors that evoke both intensity and calm. These hues are woven together with a combination of soft blending and raw, spontaneous brushstrokes. The juxtaposition of controlled color transitions and unrestrained marks reflects my process of balancing planning with improvisation.

While my compositions begin with a basic framework that often evolves, the true heart of my work lies in the use of shapes and application of color. I often add many layers of color and texture, creating a unique history that reflects my exposure to diverse cultures in the three different countries I lived in. It is important to me that the viewer feel my process, see the changes I’ve made, connects to my search. This process exposes my vulnerabilities,  my processes, my doubts and, eventually, the feel of certainty when I have found an expression that is true and authentic.  The colors shift and respond to the canvas in an organic way, allowing the piece to emerge naturally, free from rigid constraints. This dynamic blend of structure and  freedom is central to my practice, and it is in this tension that my work finds its true expression
